The NABU Moorhus in Lübbecke is located at the largest remaining moor area in North Rhine-Westphalia "Das Große Torfmoor". As a starting point for walks through the moor or with an interesting exhibition, it attracts many visitors.

In the extensive, almost treeless high moor landscape in the north of the Wiehengebirge, endangered animal species such as water rail, field warbler, corncrake, snipe or moor frog have their refuge. Rare plants such as sundew and marsh gentian also feel at home here and decorate the mystical moor landscape with colorful spots. Three circular hiking trails and a moor adventure path lead through the area. The NABU visitor center Moorhus presents the history of the Great Peat Bog from its formation to the present day in a multimedia exhibition.
